We believe that God intended so much more for you and your family. The necessities of life should be the one thing that you shouldn’t need to worry about.

That’s why we’ve created the Amber Garden Ministry. Imagine being able to grow your own vegetables and herbs on your own family plot throughout the summer. Imagine your dinner table filled with fresh vegetables grown with your own hands. Think about the new friends you will meet as you work side by side with fellow community members.

The good news is that the Amber Garden is not a dream – it’s a reality – and our gift to you. All you need to do is sign-up.

Amber Garden Ministry

Vegetable CollageStarting today you can sign up to reserve your own 5 ft. wide by 25 ft. long plot for your garden. There is no cost to you. We just ask that you faithfully manage and tend to your garden throughout the summer.
Through our faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ:

  • We will provide the land (located behind the Monroe Church of the Nazarene).
  • We will provide the seeds (and you’re free to bring your own).
  • We will provide the water.
  • We will provide the tools.
  • We will provide a convenient area where your children can play while you tend your garden.
  • We will provide classes on how to preserve your vegetables at the end of the season.
  • We will teach you how to garden even if you’ve never picked up a hoe and spade in your life.

All you need to do is come with an open heart and good old fashioned elbow grease.

We believe that God has already provided the rest.

Is this Really Free?

Yes. Through the help of local businesses, grants, the generosity of our members and Faith we are able to offer 50 Amber Garden plots on a first-come first-served basis.

With your help and respect, we will be able to keep the Ministry free of charge for years to come.

When Will the Amber Garden Open?

Amber Garden will be open on May 16th, 2009. On May 16th you can begin to plant your seeds and get acquainted your Plot Neighbors.
Plots and equipment will be open from 8:00am – 8:00pm, Monday – Saturday, throughout the entire summer.

I want to Garden but I Know Nothing About Gardening?

Neither does our Pastor! Thankfully, our church family is filled with talented “ green thumbs” who are eager to teach you everything they know.

We will also hold classes throughout the summer to teach you all you need to know to be a expert gardener.

Just show up – God will take care of the rest.

What Do I Do Next?

Our Garden has already begun! We will have more plots available next year, but don't let that stop you from coming to see what it is all about.

I loved digging in God's dirt. What a great day. It was so gratifying.
