A C3 Church
A C3 Church is a church that has become fully surrendered to God. The "C3" is a shorthand way of saying "circle three." The following picture illustrates circle three and how it relates to the spiritual journey of a church or person. Each circle represents a different stage in the spiritual journey of a church or person.
- Circle 1
- Circle 2
- Circle 3
Circle 1 is the Circle of Rebellion. In this circle God is outside the life of the church or person. At the center of their life they sit on the throne and are firmly in control.
Circle 2 is the Circle of Debate. In this circle God has entered into the life and has brought about forgiveness of sins. Unfortunately, at the center of this life they remain on the throne and remain in charge. This circle is filled with debate. Since God is in the circle He has some commands and suggestions to make but He is not in control. Many individuals and churches operate at this level.
Circle 3, however, is the Circle of Full Surrender. In this circle God is on the throne, He calls the shots. What would happen if a church attained a Circle 3 relationship with God? Imagine what God could do with a person who is fully surrendered. What could God accomplish through a church where all of the assets, goals, and activities were filtered through a C3 perspective? That is the question we are trying to answer!
It is our belief that the Sermon on the Mount teaches the values of a C3 Church. The Beatitudes represent the internal change resulting from a full surrender to God. The remainder of the sermon reveals how to live out a fully surrendered life and at the same time reveals the values of a C3 Church.
At the top of this page you will find the values of a C3 church as outlined in the Sermon on the Mount. If you would like to listen to an audio podcast of the sermon which was preached about a particular value simply click on the value and you will be taken to the page where you are able to stream the content or download the MP3 file. It is our belief that in C3 Living everything changes!
